I have found that you can extend the life of them by breaking the filter off of a cigarette, and replacing the cotton filter that comes in these, then run some water through, and blow out the excess. You sacrifice 1 cigarette per pack, and it works great. It even makes cheap cigarettes taste better! Eventually, they split where the metal cigarette holding piece goes into the big end, so when that happens, just get out another new one, and you're back in business! I have been using these filters for several years.
