This product works! If you like juicy fruit gum, you’ll dig the flavor of this. I followed the directions and chewed one piece every hour. I smoked for 15 years. My brand was Marlboro 100′s and I burned through 1.5-2 packs a day. At $5.00 a pack, that’s a pretty good reason alone to quit right there.
Before this gum, I tried Nicorette which costs twice as much as Equate, didn’t taste as good, and left a filmy white residue on my lips (scum). Equate doesn’t leave any trace. I bought Equate at Walmart, which cost around $23 for 100 pieces. Nicorette cost around $50. You actually get an inferior product if you pay more.
I’ve also tried Zyban, which didn’t really work for me. The biggest disappointment were the nicotine patches. They gave me nightmares, and didn’t do much to curb the cravings.
The instructions say to quit the gum at 3 months. I was not yet ready to quit at that time, so I chewed for an extra month. It’s certainly healthier to chew the gum for however long it takes you to quit, than relapsing and smoking/chewing tobacco. At about 4 months, I was done with the gum. If it wasn’t for the ease of use, and the great flavor, I might not have been successful. I’m at the point right now where I can say with confidence that I’ve smoked my last cigarette, and I am forever done with nicotine. The 4 MG comes highly recommended. Don’t get 2MG, just cut a 4 MG in half if it’s too much. It’s not even been a year yet and I have saved way over $2,000. Good luck to you if you decide to quit.
