FDA Wants to Ban Electronic-Cigarettes (e-Cigs)

The petition has closed, but please read on: The FDA still wants to ban the import and sale of “electronic” cigarettes in the United States as “unsafe” and “unapproved drugs.” A Federal judge in January ruled that the FDA does not have jurisdiction over the import of e-cigs. The FDA will keep trying but it’s up to US (e-cig smokers) to protect our right to substitute a product that even a jack-ass knows is safer than tobacco! Banning e-cigarettes will do MORE harm than allowing them to be used as a quiting aid or as a substitute for smoking carcinogenic tobacco products. Nicotine, in and of itself, does NOT cause disease! i smoke cigarettes and i love my electronic cigarette.
Why cant they let people have their little happiness… just because they are so intimidated by the look and smell of smoke ? Fuck em
e-Smokers need to let their Congressman and Representatives know your feelings and opinions. Tobacco smokers know how it feels to be crapped on, let’s not join that ongoing party.

Good news, indeed. However, don’t think that the attacks upon e-cigarettes will end — as long as Big Tobacco (read: Philip Morris, etc.) feels threatened by a product from which they don’t monetarily benefit, along with Big Government via insane taxes — the attacks will continue.
I have smoked for about 10 years now and have been on the E-cig for about a week, and I must say that it is awesome, I get the nicotine I crave and no second hand smoke or odor or bad breath or anything. Fuck the FDA for me wanting to continue to smoke but in a healthier manner.
What a crock of shit! The fucking FDA all “up in arms” because they have no control over this. These products are not designed to help a person QUIT smoking. They are designed to give a smoker a safer alternative than the thousand of carcinogenic substances found in conventional cigarettes! Nicotine is no more dangerous than caffeine. And the water vapor in smoking eCigs is completely harmless and actually, has some benefit. Fuck the FDA and their intrusion on American’s lives!!

i went from 4pm yesterday till 8pm tonight with out either of them… although i gave in and got my e cig.. but still.. i am doing a heck of a lot better thanks to the e cig

The only reason i believe that they wont approve the electronic cigarette is because the government won’t get there outragious taxes on regular cigs! They gotta pay for that 1 million dollar toilet seat remember. lol This is a better way to try and quit smoking, the patches, gum or anything of the sort do not work. I have only had my E-cig for 2 weeks and i went from a pack and a half a day to 4 regular cigs.. some times even none, just the e-cig! So a ban on e-cigs is BS! I love this thing!

The FDA is saying stay away from ecigs but they approve the Fire Safety Cigs? Oh dont use the ecigs but go buy the chemical infested cigs. What are they trying to accomplish here? Must be worried about money again.
Im pretty sure that these objections are from big tobacco who are losing money from it. They are far better than regular smokes. So why ban them?
Probly because big tobacco makes the smokes and the patches, and they are losing money now.
Its all a money making business, medicine is like billion dollar industry, If people start recovering from cigarette their health will get better, so less medicine will be used. FDA want people to get sick so they will spend money on medicine, its al just a SICK game.
I kinda find it baffling that Pepsi has came out with a Caffinemax Pepsi containing super amounts of caffine and E-cigs are taking so much heat trying to reduce the use of tobacco
