Question from Anna
Has anyone tried one? If so which one?
Has anyone tried one? If so which one?
Do we have any conclusive data of any health dangers? I mean compared with cigarettes
Any form of combustion will always cause some sort of toxin to be release but is it less than cigarettes?
Thank you

Less health risks because your vaporizing the nicotine so there is no combustion, the downside is that it looks like your smoking a fairy light
whoa they have such a thing?… do they cause cancer?
My cousin’s boyfriend is actually into that stuff. From what i’ve learned so far, it doesn’t cause smoke like regular cigarettes, its water vapor when you exhale. So technically speaking you can smoke it anywhere you want because you wont have to worry about second hand smoke.
the good thing about it is that all it is is nicotine. none of that other crap cigarettes have. then again nicotine is still poisonous so i dont know if its a good thing but still.
the bad thing is that its kind of expensive. You get the electronic cigarette which is expensive already, and cartridges of nicotine which usually come in different strengths. The ones my cousin had were rechargeable (its all battery powered) and you dont have to finish the cartridge in one sitting. its also handy if you want to ween yourself off cigarettes too
As for the causing cancer thing, who knows. Tobacco companies say that it doesn’t cause cancer, but because of the high correlation between smokers and cancer patients, the courts had the tobacco companies put on warning labels about cancer anyway. So i’m not sure where electronic cigarettes stand.
I don’t know if anyone but the tobacco companies can name the 1000′s of chemicals and additives that are in cigarettes. With the electronic cigarette it is pretty simple:
Water
Propylene glycol- produces the vapor. Think fog machine at a concert
Nicotine- You pick the level from none to strong
Flavoring- My favorites are strawberry, apple and vanilla
To me the choice was simple. I wasn’t getting the smoke, tar, carbon monoxide. No matter how you look at it, electronic cigarettes are healthier for you.
I am only spending about half what I was spending on cigarettes and that is with Green Smoke (http://www.greensmoke.com/florida) they are not the cheapest. I went with ease of use and reliability over price.
13 days smoke free!!!
I like the Green Smoke. It’s two part design is easier to use, no clogged atomizers and the smoke is just amazing!!
And you ask a loaded question there, one that’s being debated like mad:
any conclusive data of heath dangers??
The real fact is no, not really. But the FDA doesn’t sit around and wait for new drugs to harm you then test them, they want to test them first so you know what to put on your disclaimer about all the bad side effects these drugs might have.
So far, e-cigs seem safer then most drugs on the market. BUT, we do have the issue of nicotine, which is a dangerous drug and if mishandled can make you very sick or even kill a child. So be careful with your fluid. Another reason I like Green Smoke, no bottles of nicotine laying around for the kids to get into.
Now, compare them to cigarettes, which the FDA won’t do. As one opponent put it “being safer than the world’s most dangerous product is not a glowing recommendation”, but if you just go with it, e-cigs deliver nicotine and “detectable” levels of some tobacco related carcinogens from the tobacco flavor. Cigarettes deliver more then detectable levels of all these plus 4000 other toxins including Carbon Monoxide, smoke, arsenic, and more.
There is the issue as well of manufacturing. Most of these are made in China, so find a company that has qualilty control. You don’t want to get that one sample in 18, like the FDA did, that had the diethelyne glycol from that other brand!!
I’d mention the health claims made by retailers, the FDA is having a fit, but then if you got up and said “water and fruit are good for you” the FDA would want to see your water and fruit studies.
