Connect 6 ‘AA’ batteries series together, how to use those batteries to operate a electronic device?

Question from fra82
Hi, I am trying to operate this electronic device which requires 9 volt. I can’t use a single 9 volt battery, but I could only connect 6 double A batteries series like positive to negative. Over all, once this series is completed, how can I take the advantage to use those batteries in that series, and with out having the battery “heat-up”?
This device is needed to be used like a DC car cigarette plug. The series will be the female plug and the device will have a male plug. Can anyone help me make such power, with out any accessories except the DC plug, batteries and wires…? A website would be accepted.
Details—- The electronic device requires X-VOLTS; please be aware…… Just need to put the batteries as a “remote control style”. The batteries are series as a control box batteries. I can’t buy a control box to hold 1.5 volt AA batteries to accomplish 9 volt. If one does need web site…

none-volt is usually the better answer… taking 6 1.5v batts doesn’t neccicarilly make the same charge or internal resistance… i would suggest doing things the right way before you dstroy whatever electrical contraption you have.
I am assuming that you are doing this for an engineering project for a college course ? and what devie are we actually talking about running its not really all that hard to connect the batteries in series but figuring out the best way to connect it to the device is going to be the issue i would suggest that you take the six batteies and connect them end to end like they were in a flash light and using the wire run one from the battery + side of your device to the positive lead of your batteries then run a wire from your devices ground to the – side of your batteriesi can give more information if you need but you should be able to figure this one out
a 9v battery is essentially 6 AA battery’s connected end to end inside a neat metal box, you can however purchase a 6 AA battery holder at your local radio shack that has a 9v battery connection on it.
but heres the deal if you put one of these packs on your device it will no longer fit inside it eg:(pocket radio, handheld video game).
if you have tried this and the battery’s are heating up maybe it actually requires more current then those battery’s can supply. in that case you might consider something larger like 6 d battery’s.
Now were cooking with electricity.
1st go to the library explain to the librarian what you need to do for your science project (things explaining how to use electricity safely)
2nd There is a whole world of information in your library if you are in a remote area you can order them on line at your county library and be delivered to closest library.
3rd That thing sitting on your shoulders between your ears is your brain use it and a thing called imagination goes with it
