Very cool vape. Works as described and very enjoyable. The only drawback, if it could be called so, is the small loading chamber/bowl. Loosly packed it will provide 3-5 draws. Go smoke-free! Gets warm in the hand which is nice in cold climates/weather. Very discreet, people don't know what it is. Get It! Will update review in 30 days.

As of 12-10-11 this thing still works great. A couple of tips: Empty the loading chamber while it is still warm, your used mix will come out much more easily. Make sure your mix is DRY! Fire it up before you open it to load it, it can be hard to pull apart when cold. The bottom line... no other portable vape comes anywhere close to this. If your reading reviews, thinking about getting one, DO IT, you'll be glad you did!

For the herbs I'm using, just a very tiny amount of smoke, or maybe it's thick vapor, that comes with each exhale.

Well that's a sign it's working!

After a few hits, I checked the bowl and the green herbs were now brown and all the good stuff was no longer on the herb. So it is an effective vaporizer for sure.

I just used it for the first time today with half a bowl packed. Definitely felt something off of that :)

I do wonder though, where does all the butane go? I hope I'm not inhaling a lot of it...but either way, the after chemicals that remain after butane is burned, aren't that bad for you but still seems a bit counter-productive for the main purpose of this device. If someone would answer that I would be thankful!

But so far, doesn't seem to be built too cheap and is definitely discreet and easy to use. Just look for the orange glow, which is what seems to be part that actually heats up. You can see a spark go across and light it like an electric lighter but click the spark button until you see that little part light up or else you're just wasting gas.

UPS delivered my Iolite IV-2 yesterday and it was the best Christmas present since Santa brought me my Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots. Take into account that I never write reviews for anything, period. Never, in my whole life, have I gotten so stoned from less than a match head's worth of weed. I think that I am going to order another Iolite IV-2 to have on site in case anything ever goes wrong with the one I got yesterday. No smoke, No smell, and a trip to Outer Space is what you will enjoy with this product. Enjoy!

Unlike some of the other parts for the Arizer, this particular piece is subject to cracking very easily. I care for all my equipment very carefully, yet the thin glass on this part breaks extremely easily. I have gone through two elbows in just over 2 months. This has occured during regular use, no extreme stress has been placed on the elbow.

Like a lot of people who use the Arizer Extreme Q, I've found this elbow piece to be fragile and prone to breakage when attempting to remove the plastic tubing from the glass elbow. After breaking two of them in a very short time while attempting to clean the residue I decided to try and find a way to lengthen the life of these pieces. What I have found is the clear tubing is much easier to remove if the elbow piece is hot from usage. My method has been to set the Arizer to 220 degrees C, place an empty cyclone bowl with the elbow/plastic tubing on top, wait until the maximum temperature has been reached, then set the fan on 3 for 5 to 8 minutes. Remove the elbow+tube from the bowl ( careful, as these pieces are hot, handle with a thick cloth ) And gently and evenly pull the elbow from the tubing. The hot air blowing through the empty bowl assembly like this causes the tubing to expand more than the glass, while also liquidizing any residue which acts like lubricant when hot.

First off the piece that screws to the lighter does not fit. The threading from the smoking piece is grooved differently. So getting it put together took a pair of pliers which scratched it all up. Secondly the lighter does work fine, but the amount of heat it puts out is crazy. The smoking tube was so hot you could not hold it for 5 minutes. It was like smoking from a car's tail pipe. So I took the welding torch off and use that for smelting gold and the smoking piece I keep as a stand alone pipe that I light with a Bic low flame lighter. As one unit... terrible. As two totally different uses it works but that is not the purpose... so 2 stars.

I bought this for what it is, a discreet and QUICK way to light up. Good for sneaking it basically anywhere. You can literally take a good hit in 5 seconds and have it back in your pocket. In fact I wouldn't leave it lit for more then 5 seconds, cause you will go though more tobacco then you need to. While it looks odd, it functions well. It has a good heft to it, it doesn't feel cheap. If you figure out how to use it, it should serve you well young Skywalker. It basically has 4 parts.

The bottom is the lighter, it is actually pretty powerful jet flame lighter. It is refillable, if you get it shipped it will be empty or almost empty, be sure to recharge it to full. Any smoke shop will sell the butane. Turn the pipe upside down, put the can upside down on the lighter nub and push. It has a recessed flame adjuster. To adjust it, basically turn it up till you get a jet flame, then back it down until just before the jet won't stay lit. (I'll go over actual lighting below)

The next part of the tube screws over the lighter flame and has a screen lodged in it at about the middle point. This forms the bottom of the chamber. You put the tobacco in here. But first you will want to get a fine mesh screen and shove it over the rather large spaced screen that it comes with. This will help not only keep the tobacco in the pipe better, but will dissipate the jet flame a bit.

Next part is a another small tube with a carbon filter, forms the top of the chamber. I also put a screen over the carbon filter, (between the tobacco and the carbon filter), to keep soot from going any further.

The last is the mouth piece, it is a plastic rubber material. No mod needed, I did consider putting a filter in here, but it would dilute the tobacco too much imo. My worry was that this is such a short pipe that the smoke would be too hot, which it could be, but not if you follow proper smoking technique.

So at the bottom it has a ignition button and a double gas release switch. To light it you switch the gas release on, and then press the ignition button. You get a quick blue jet flame which if there is tobacco in the chamber will immediately start to burn. So the proper technique is, flip the gas release switch, bring it to your lips, press the ignition button and inhale right away, after a second you flip the gas release off, and keep inhaling till done. (maybe two seconds, but really a second is all you need, the jet flame is no joke) It kind of seems complicated at first, but it is easy to switch off, it is one of those that it is harder to switch on then to switch it off - you just lightly touch it to turn off.

Depending on how well you pack it, this can hold quite a bit. You can basically pack the top and bottom chambers, comparable to two large bowls worth I'd say. Also, as long as the flame goes out in a second or two, you won't waste alot of smoke - if any.

So to recap, fill it with butane, add a couple fine screens (I like brass), load you tobacco in the chamber, push the gas release on, bring to lips, ignite, inhale, flip off gas, keep inhaling, exhale, repeat.

What this isn't - the perfect way to smoke. The smoke doesn't have a lot of time to cool, so it will be a little harsher then other ways. So don't use this unless you have to. But still, the opportunities are endless. Clubs, holiday parties with relatives, dog parks, porta-potties, basically any where you wouldn't whip out a pipe or rolling papers.
